Russian energy company Novatek is expected to boost its naphtha exports from the Ust-Luga complex on the Baltic Sea to up to 600,000 tons per month. This increase follows recent maintenance and the addition of a new processing unit, according to industry sources.
Operations at Ust-Luga’s three condensate fractionation units were increased in early November, raising capacity to 25,000 tons per day. In October, Novatek exported about 385,000 tons of naphtha, 110,000 tons of jet fuel, and 42,000 tons of gasoil from the facility.
The new refining unit at Ust-Luga has an annual processing capacity of 3 million tons of gas condensate, converting it into products like light and heavy naphtha, jet fuel, fuel oil, and gasoil. In 2023, the facility processed 7 million tons of gas condensate.
Novatek primarily exports naphtha to Asian markets, including China, Singapore, Taiwan, and Malaysia.
